As a member of Theatre Puget Sound you can join Fractured Atlas as an associate member free of charge.

OUR MISSION

Fractured Atlas is a non-profit organization that serves a national community of artists and arts organizations. Our programs and services facilitate the creation of art by offering vital support to the artists who produce it. We help artists and arts organizations function more effectively as businesses by providing access to funding, healthcare, education, and more, all in a context that honors their individuality and independent spirit. By nurturing today's talented but underrepresented voices, we hope to foster a dynamic and diverse cultural landscape of tomorrow.

How do I become an Associate Member?

Through the Open Arts Network, a collaborative partnership has been formed between Fractured Atlas and Theatre Puget Sound. As a result, we are pleased to offer you this free Associate Membership.

Already a member of Theatre Puget Sound? Then simply go to www.fracturedatlas.org/tps and fill out the online Associate Membership application. You will instantly become an Associate Member of the nation's fastest growing arts service organization. And it’s all free!

ASSOCIATE MEMBER SERVICES

As an Associate Member of Fractured Atlas you have access to a limited, but vast selection of our services:

  • HEALTHCARE
    Obtaining it and paying for it is a critical challenge for many in the arts community. Fractured Atlas works to secure some very affordable health insurance options for its members. All of the information about the plans can be found on our website, where you can directly sign up for the plan that suits your needs.

  • LIABILITY INSURANCE
    Through multiple highly-rated carriers, we are pleased to offer our members access to high-quality, low-cost liability coverage for: annual general liability, studio rental (for visual artists), events (a requirement for many artistic events), film production & equipment, public art installations (covering fabrication/installation, as well as providing coverage for the artwork itself), arts fairs and festivals, teaching artists, director’s and officer’s (which can also include employment practices insurance), errors and omissions, and worker’s comp.

  • JOB BANK
    Access hundreds of arts industry job listings from across the country, targeted by region and discipline.

  • PRESS & PUBLICITY SERVICES
    Members can gain access to low-cost, individualized publicity packages and the ability to post news and event listings on our online Calendar of Events.

  • ONLINE CLASSES
    These introductory courses, developed by industry professionals, can help with basic fundraising, marketing, budgeting, and producing strategies, and are available to members free of charge.

  • COMMUNITY CENTRAL & MEMBER DIRECTORY
    Our community message boards and online networking tools allow you to interact with other members from all artistic disciplines nationwide.

  • SPECIAL OFFERS
    Our discounts to both businesses and arts organizations have been specifically negotiated for our members.

How do I enroll in a Healthcare plan?

When you join Fractured Atlas, you will be asked to select a username and password for the web site. When you are ready to enroll in a healthcare plan, just point your browser to www.fracturedatlas.org, and login to the site. Then, click on Healthcare at the top of the page, select your state of residence from the dropdown menu on the right side of the screen, and you will be able to enroll in a plan directly online. In addition to these plans below, we expect to add new plans over time, so please keep checking back if you can’t find a suitable plan.

FULL MEMBER SERVICES

Individual artists and emerging organizations can become full members of Fractured Atlas for a low annual membership fee. The services below are currently unavailable to Associate Members. The benefits available for full members only include:

  • FISCAL SPONSORSHIP This is a financial and legal system by which a legally-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity (such as Fractured Atlas) provides the means for independent artists or unincorporated groups to apply for grants or receive tax-deductible contributions.

  • GRANTS Through our Emerging Artists Fund, the first ever endowment established to provide sophisticated financial resources and access to capital for emerging artists and arts organizations, we provide a small number of grants in the range of $250-$1000 on a quarterly cycle to our members. These grants are made in two categories -- Creative Development and Organizational Development – and can be applied for directly through our website.

About Fractured Atlas

Fractured Atlas is an arts service organization. We provide a wide range of resources and support to the arts community. You can learn about the full range of our programs and services by visiting our website at www.fracturedatlas.org.

Fractured Atlas is not an insurance company. If you enroll in a health insurance plan or purchase liability insurance, your premiums will go to the insurance company in question, and they will be responsible for paying your claims. Fractured Atlas is also not a union, nor a producer, agent, manager, etc.

Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, is only partially funded through membership fees. Critical additional support is or has been provided by The National Endowment for the Arts, The New York State Council for the Arts, Seedco & the Non-Profit Assistance Corporation, The New York Arts Recovery Fund, The Non-Profit Finance Fund, scores of individual donors from across the country, and a dedicated volunteer core.
